Form opens April 1st at noon (CDT.) It will be active until April 4, 2025 at 11:59 pm (CDT, GMT -5).

You are signing up for a lottery, adding your name to a list from which contestants for both Punniest of Show and Punslingers in Austin will be randomly selected. Expect an email on or soon after April 5th, 2025 to let you know if your name was selected as a contestant. You must reply and confirm your attendance to claim a place. Contestant status may not be delegated to another person if you cannot attend.

Remaining persons will be added to an ordered Stand-By List and notified if a contestant withdraws. We almost always have some “no-show” contestants on the day of the event.

All contestants including those on the Stand-By List are expected to check in between 10:15 - 11:15am at the Pun-Off Registration table on the day of the event (May 10, 2025). We wish you the best of luck and look forward to a pun-filled day at the 48th Annual O. Henry Pun-Off World Championships.

I have read the rules and I agree to abide by the rules for the purpose of competing in the O. Henry Pun-Off World Championships. I will respect the Punniest of Show time limit and PunSlinger strike-out procedure. I Agree to my participation in the O. Henry Pun-Off being recorded as part of a public event for possible broadcast on TV, Internet, or other electronic media and waive my claim to any compensation. I hearby release and hold harmless the City of Austin and the Brush Square Museums Foundation or any other producers from any claim of liability.
